Consistency is critical to achieving success in any aspect of life. Whether it’s in sports, academics, or career, consistency is the foundation that separates those who achieve greatness from those who fall short. However, many people believe that consistency means giving 100% effort all the time. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Consistency is more about giving 90% effort 90% of the time.

Not every day is fantastic

Let’s face it; no one can give 100% effort all the time. We all have days when we feel tired, demotivated, or unable to perform at our best. And that’s okay. What’s important is that we show up and give our best effort, even if it’s not 100%. Giving 90% effort consistently is much more valuable than providing 100% effort sporadically.

Consistency means showing up repeatedly, even when things get tough. It’s about developing a routine and sticking to it, even when we don’t feel like it. It’s about setting achievable goals and working towards them every day. Consistency is not about being perfect; it’s about making progress.

Consistency is key

Allow for some flexibility while still maintaining a high level of consistency. It means that we don’t have to be perfect all the time, but we do need to show up and give our best effort consistently. It means that we can take a break when we need it, but we always come back and give our best effort. It’s a sustainable approach that helps us achieve our goals over the long term.
