Reflection is the act of thinking deeply and critically about an experience or idea. It allows you to process information, gain new insights, and evaluate your thoughts and actions. Wisdom does not come from experience. It comes through reflecting on one’s experiences.

Open your eyes

Our brains instead construct our worldview based on what we pay attention to.

Cal Newport

By reflecting, you can focus on your thoughts, beliefs, and values and gain a deeper understanding. This can help you construct a more realistic and meaningful worldview outside your daily bubble. In other words, reflection allows you to shape your beliefs and values by paying attention to your inner thoughts and experiences.

Make time

“Time spent in self-reflection is never wasted – it is an intimate date with yourself.” –

Dr Paul TP Wong

By setting aside time for regular self-reflection, you can create a space to focus on your innermost thoughts and emotions. So the next time you have some free time, consider setting aside a few moments for self-reflection.

Or even better, do not wait till you have free time, but plan some time in your calendar to do reflection regularly—either alone or with some people you trust that allow you to explore further.
